  • Overview

    The primary function of this role is to support Cook Medical’s business by ensuring that Operations planning and capacity meets forecasted requirements; that trends which could affect Cook Medical’s ability to meet customer requirements are identified and that information necessary to the smooth running of the Operations function is available.

    • Create production plan based on reported inventory levels by Distribution Centre, production capacity & current open orders.
    • Run weekly meeting to review progress and set schedule for coming week.
    • Using IOPs system, monitor trends across Distribution Centre’s & product families and compare with operations capacity to ensure running just ahead of requirement.
    • Collate forecasting information and review versus capacity to identify areas for capacity increases.
    • Review data to be uploaded into the Cook Medical inventory planning system with Supervisors and make recommendations to Management regarding ability to meet capacity and timelines.
    • Monitor, review & communicate progress on large orders against Expected Ship Date.
    • Expedite orders where necessary.
    • Run reports to highlight critical issues and identify potential problems.
    • Identify situations where product stock levels require adjustments.
    • Work with Product Development & Engineering on capacity planning for new product introductions.
    • Review daily On-Time-Delivery, warehouse due dates, customer promise date stats with a view to early identification of potential problems.
    • Produce key reports to relevant functions as necessary.
    • Identify reporting needs across function.
    • Ensure above functions are done in line with internal Quality procedures, and ISO 13485:2003.
    • Ensure that Cook’s Code of Conduct is considered in all business matters carried out on Cook’s behalf.


    • Qualification in similar planning or related role.
    • Relevant experience in a similar role with Medical Device experiences an advantage.
    • Good numerical abilities.
    • Good communication and inter-personal skills.
    • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office with expertise in Excel.
    • Proven problem solving skills.
    • Willingness and availability to travel on company business.
