    The External Communications Specialist EMEA drives corporate communications projects to promote an accurate public image of the company. Through Social Media, Public Relations and Corporate Citizenship projects, the role creates communications that promote and protect our culture, values and brand. This position responds quickly to incidents and engages with the media, customers and patients when needed.

    • Develop effective social media strategies with the corporate communications team, manage online communities, develop social content and implement change based on analytics.
    • Co-ordinate corporate citizenship activities for Cook in EMEA. Working with external subject matter experts and internal teams to promote best in class activities and communications for this area.
    • Develop effective external communication and engagement plans with the corporate communications team.
    • Manage a local PR agency to collaborate on creating external communications across channels to communicate a fair/accurate public image that protects and promotes the Cook brand and reputation.
    • Project manage events relevant to Cook’s external communications strategy for EMEA.
    • Draft content (e.g. press releases) for mass media and company website.
    • Develop content distribution plans for communications materials.
    • Be the subject matter expert for social media aggregator.
    • Liaise with media and handle requests for interviews, statements etc.
    • Foster relationships with advocates and key persons.
    • Help manage the reputation of the Cook brand by providing fair and accurate information to multiple audiences.
    • Assist in communication of strategies/ messages from senior leadership.
    • Project manage content approvals and external campaigns.
    • Ensure that Cook’s Code of Conduct is considered in all business matters carried out on Cook’s behalf.
    • Other responsibilities as assigned.



    • Degree in Marketing, English, Journalism, Communications or related field desired.
    • A number of years’ experience in a similar position required, preferable within healthcare.
    • Social media campaign and project management experience required.
    • Proficiency in major social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and others.
    • A proven track record in PR, writing, media relations, issues management and respons e, copywriting, storytelling and editing
    • Solid knowledge of print and electronic media analysis tools.
    • Strong communication & grammatical skills.
    • Proficient in use of word processing and presentation software.
    • Willingness & availability to travel on company business as required.
