Overview

We are looking for a manager who can lead an R&D team in development projects for Medical Devices for the treatment of patients with blood vessel diseases all over the world.

 

Are you ready to lead innovation in medical device development? Cook Medical is seeking a visionary and proactive Manager for our R&D team specializing in Embolization Therapies. You will play a key role in guiding a talented development team, making strategic decisions, and fostering a positive work environment that supports both professional growth and well-being.

Responsibilities

Lead a project team – with a patient focus

 

You will be responsible for the project team and their success in developing medical devices within Embolization Therapies managing project execution, clinical interactions, vendor and partner identification.

 

This means that you:

  • Lead and support the R&D team to achieve project goals and maintain a positive work environment – including people management of a team with 9 employees.
  • Technical responsibility for all Research and Development activities assigned.
  • Maintain and improve high standard of medical device engineering.
  • Communicate and uphold the team’s vision, mission, and strategy.
  • Allocate resources and manage priorities, including project leadership and motivation.
  • Ensure deadlines and quality standards are met, reporting globally as needed.
  • Oversee team training and development and safeguard intellectual property.
  • Coordinate communication within Cook Medical and with external partners.
  • Manage budgeting, vacation planning, and relevant ad hoc tasks.

Qualifications

Experienced manager with lots of energy

The ideal candidate holds an engineering degree or a comparable theoretical and practical background, with proven experience in people management, product development, project management, and a solid understanding of medical device industry standards and regulations including technical writing and knowledge of ISO, EU, FDA standards. Proficiency in Danish, both written and spoken, is essential, as well as strong communication skills in English.

Personally, you excel at communicating and collaborating with colleagues at all levels, and you have a talent for prioritizing, leading, and delegating tasks within a team. You are visionary, proactive, and authoritative, yet flexible and empathetic, with a positive and approachable attitude. Your commitment to leadership and fostering a supportive environment makes you an asset to any team.
